Guantánamo – The Minister of Education, Naima Ariatne Trujillo Barreto, verified the recovery that are being carried out in the five schools affected in the San Antonio del Sur Municipality, after the passage of Hurricane Oscar through the easternmost province of Cuba.

The head of the branch also exchanged with teachers, directors and workers who support the recovery efforts that are being carried out at the IPU Máximo Gómez Baez Pre-university School, Año de la Educación Special School, as well as the Pedro Hernández Segura Primary School, the Los 7 Enanitos Children’s Day Care Center and the Julio A Delgado Reyes Primary School, in the Macambo community.

Trujillo Barreto also verified the damage caused to the teaching aids, hygiene supplies, audiovisual media, as well as school furniture such as chairs, tables, blackboards, among other resources. During her tour of the affected educational facilities in the San Antonio del Sur Municipality, she also spoke with victims of the sector, to know about main concerns and care received.

The Minister of Education Naima Ariatne Trujillo Barreto will visit the Imías Municipality, another of those affected by Hurricane Oscar, where she will be able to verify the situation of the school network in that municipality, among other concerns.
