Guantánamo – More than 10 thousand homes affected by Hurricane Oscar in the Baracoa Municipality were registered at the 18 processing tables set up in that territory, of which five are itinerant.

Of the 125 schools there, 117 were damaged by the hydrometeorological phenomenon, according to a report of the CMDX La Voz del Toa Radio Station.

At this time, of Baracoa is analyzing multiple issues that guarantee the protection of the population and the local economy.

At 6 PM, a total of 1,818 families (7,118 people) have been evacuated. Of these, 6,757 are being housed in relatives’ homes.

Regarding weather conditions, in the last 10 hours 18.9 millimeters of rain has been recorded in the territory,

This continuous monitoring is essential to ensure the safety of citizens and mitigate any negative impact on the community.

At the meeting, the president of the Defense Council in La Primada de Cuba called for accelerating the distribution of available materials (tiles and awnings) given the complex situation that the municipality presents with the intense rains.
