Guantanamo.- Curmix, a product made from turmeric and other ingredients, which functions as a dietary supplement with antioxidant effects is one of the lastest projects carried out by the Mountain Development Center (CDM), the only one of its kind in Cuba, located in the heart of the Limonar mountain settlement, in the municipality of El Salvador, in Guantanamo Province.
Likewise, the Mountain Development Center is facing the retirement of several employees. To address this, they are developing ways to pass on the knowledge and experience gained from 31 years of research work to new generations of researchers and technicians.
They also participate in job fairs and reach out to universities in the region to attract students, not only from Guantánamo but also from other provinces.
The CDM assimilates also graduates from fields such as Chemistry, Veterinary Medicine, Mathematics, and Sociology that further strengthen connection with local farmers and businesses which allows a truly comprehensive view of mountain development.
