With its debut against Granma, the Guantanamo first-class women’s football team begins its participation in the National League of that sport, to be extended until February 29, 2024, in the regular stage.

The group is made up of 18 athletes, some of them with greater prominence such as midfielder and captain Lucy Amanda Peraza and others who reinforce positions such as defense and goal, given their quality and for having integrated national preselections.

Yulendri Valier Pichardo, technical director, said that the preparation was stable, although with the difficulties that affect the country.

The competition, in its qualifying stage, is divided into two groups of five teams that include the representations of Havana, Artemisa, Cienfuegos, Villa Clara and Las Tunas, in Group A, and Camagüey, Holguín, Granma, Santiago de Cuba and Guantanamo in group B.

The Guantanamo representatives have an arduous task as they are included in a group that includes strong teams such as Santiago, Granma and Camagüey; however, the objective of qualifying for the final round persists.
