Guantanamo.- A new cafeteria service is scheduled to begin in Guantánamo’s junior high schools during the second half of September as part of a socioeconomic transformation program in the education sector.
The initiative aims to provide students at this educational level with food options after economic constraints made it impossible to maintain the School Snack Program.
During a regular meeting to assess the province’s operational situation, Yoel Pérez García, the territory’s First Secretary of the Party, called for the rapid implementation of the new service, with particular attention to students living in vulnerable circumstances.
The meeting, attended by Guantánamo’s top authorities and representatives of various enterprises and agencies, also included municipal leaders via conference call. Participants reviewed the distribution of essential school supplies—including pencils and notebooks—as well as food supplies for daycare centers.
