A new distribution of donated food, made up of 1kg of rice, pasta, legumes, refined sugar and sardines, has began in Guantanamo.
In an interview with Venceremos, Ángel de la Cruz Baquero, commercial director of the Wholesale Enterprise, said that this donation has the particularity to be aimed at vulnerable people, pregnant women and low-weight children registered until April 30.
The distribution, hindered by the delay of the rice pertaining to this donation, began in the municipalities of Caimanera and Niceto Pérez.
According to De la Cruz Baquero, the distribution to residents will be made in warehouses of each People’s Council, where beneficiaries will be located according to their address.
To acquire it, they only need the identity card as an identification document.
This donation is given thanks to the solidarity of friendly nations to benefit these sectors of the population and try to mitigate the effects of the blockade and food shortages.
