New electric tricycles to circulate in Guantanamo cityGuantánamo – Twenty electric tricycles will help alleviate the demand for public transportation in the Guantánamo City as of July 26, said Madelay Santiago Rodríguez, director of the Basic Business Unit (UEB) of the Taxis-Cuba Agency in this eastern territory.

These means of transport will be driven by professional with driver’s licenses for cars and motorcycles who will be in charge of complying with the routes that will cost customers 10 pesos in national currency.

The new tricycles that will be available at the end of this month for the benefit of the inhabitants of the Guantanamo City, were assembled by the National Industry in the equipment and applications enterprise, Narciso López Roselló belonging to Havana from components imported from China.

The Basic Business Unit of the Taxis-Cuba Agency in Guantánamo, in charge of governing the new rental of tricycles, has three commercial offices located in the provincial capital, Baracoa and Moa, respectively, which offer tourism services, as well as to entities with non-tourist purposes and to patients with chronic kidney failure.
