Until the end of May, the construction enterprises in Guantanamo deliver some 20 homes to mothers and legal guardians in vulnerable condition, under the supervision of the Provincial Housing Directorate, as part of the demographic dynamics attention program.
So far in 2023, the municipalities El Salvador, Yateras and Baracoa stand out with the highest delivery of houses, despite a continuous deficit of electrical wire, cement and steel in the territory, which prevents a greater number of homes, even those self-financed by agencies of the Central State Administration.
Olaidis Méndez Planche, head of the entity, explains that the “Demographic Policy” in Guantanamo promotes the birth rate and financial allocation to natural or legal persons for construction, as well as the expansion of those homes, to which are added 7,300 thousand pesos to those disbursed in 2022.
The allocation of funds is produced from a previous budget for subsidies to natural persons with a lack of economic solvency and monetary resources for the acquisition of construction materials, which makes it possible to obtain 18 homes by state destination and 2 by subsidies.
