Guantánamo. – Guantanamo plans to inaugurate approximately 50 investments in commemoration of National Rebellion Day, as part of efforts to improve centers of socioeconomic interest and increase production to promote higher incomes and the well-being of residents.
Yosbani Fernández, Director of Heritage and Construction for the provincial government, highlights the efforts of the education sector to create a hearing rehabilitation room at the June 14 Special School with advanced technology, along with four children’s playhouses: one in Cayamo, belonging to Caimanera, two in Niceto Pérez, and one in Puriales de Caujerí, in San Antonio del Sur.
In this regard, the official highlights that the municipality of Caimanera is the first territory in the country to have a children’s houses in each People’s Council, one of the achievements that has granted it the venue of the July 26th celebration act in the province.
The Water Resources delegation has nine projects underway, including the La Javilla aqueduct, the San Ignacio and Río El Medio pipelines, both in the municipality of Imías, and the San Sempré aqueduct, in El Salvador.
The Health sector is also working on the intensive care, observation, and surgery wards at the Pedro Agustín Pérez Pediatric Hospital, the Doctor Agosthino Neto General Teaching Hospital, and the Octavio de la Concepción and de la Pedraja Hospitals, respectively; seven senior citizen homes; a doctor’s office in Pueblo Nuevo, El Salvador; and the Yateras Maternal Home.
Likewise, the Commerce sector is executing six projects, including two Ideal Markets and the Kumura Club in the city of Guantánamo, and the Imías Beach recreational complex. The Poultry Company is also developing two small industries and 10 rural warehouses for sheep and goat production, among others.
The Director of Heritage and Construction for the provincial government, Yosbani Fernández, also highlights the efforts to refurbish 24 social parks in the city of Guantánamo, the completion of an urban bridge in the city of Baracoa.
He also mentioned the 15 tricycles and a second rail bus that the Transportation sector is incorporating.
