Cuban troubadours of several generations join their voices during the 11th Political Song Festival to be held in Guantanamo from next August 1st to 4, organizers announced today.
The edition will be dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Cultural Center Pablo de la Torriente Brau, 30th of the Hermanos Saiz Association and the founders of the event, the oldest of the organization that brings together the artistic vanguard of the island.
Augusto Blanca, Eduardo Sosa, Tony Avila, Marta Campos and Heidi Igualada, representatives of all generations of troubadours, will share the stage with musicians and artists attending the event.
It will be also presented a multimedia that collects, the most significant moments of the past four decades and the longest trova concert performed, according to the organizers.
Jugglers as Santiago Feliu, Xiomara Laugart, Sara Gonzalez, Gerardo Alfonso, Carlos Varela, Pedro Luis Ferrer, Polito Ibáñez, among others have honored the Political Song Festival.
Emerged in 1976 on the initiative of a group of young musicians from Guantanamo to pay homage to the martyrs of the revolution in this city, it has become in a meeting to promote this music genre in Cuba.
