Authorities of Ecuador and 15 diplomatic missions of other countries, accredited in that capital, signed a cultural cooperation agreement.
The Memorandum of Understanding with the Ecuadorian House of Culture was sanctioned at the Colonial Art Museum and expects to institutionalize international collaboration in that sector.

Officials from the embassies of Argentina, Colombia, El Salvador, France, Palestine, Paraguay, Peru, Democratic Saharawi Arab Republic, Uruguay, Chile, South Korea, Mexico, Italy, Egypt and Russia attended de ceremony.

The initiative plans to be extended to other states once fulfilled the legal procedures stipulated by their own legislation and governments.

The Memorandum provides a general framework for international cooperation developed by the Ecuadorian cultural institution and will make possible to establish common policies as well as actions and resources within the powers and possibilities of each of the parties.

With one year, the memorandum will be automatically renewed unless one party notifies the other of its intention of not to do so.
