Elegguá and his stories”, of Teatro Ríos group will be presented for first time in the Guiñol Theater this Sunday, December 2, starting at ten o'clock in the morning
"The children of Orula", "Agüé the peacock", and "Nobody knows everything" make up the trilogy of stories performed that show that vanity and self-sufficiency have a dark ending.
The play created by the young actress Ana Chelys Matos Toirac is about the stories of the Yoruba religion, in which colorful fabrics become puppets when they invoke Elegguá, considered the wisest goddess.
During the play “Eleggá and his stories,” the actors have to dance, act and handle puppets with force and dynamism, supported by the fusion of traditional songs, drum beats and the music of the Cuban band Síntesis.
Rafael Rodríguez Rodríguez is the general director of the play, who is also the leader of the Teatro Ríos, founded on May 26, 2007, a group that participates every year in the Guantanamo-Baracoa Theater Crusade so that the public of the mountain communities can see its high quality artistic performance.
