To promote a dialogical institutional management and support the people on February 24 the new Cuban Magna Carta, Abel Acosta Damas, Deputy Minister of Culture in the country, called artists and intellectuals of the Guantanamo Province during its Assembly of Balance on 2018.
The meeting was also chaired by Rafael Pérez Fernández, First Secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Cuban Communist Party (PCC), Emilio Matos Mosqueda, head of the Assembly of People's Power in the same instance and Yoelvys Labañino López, director of the guild who reviewed his work during the past year.
The call to perfect the cultural programming with attractive products for the recipients focused the debate, as well as the projection to reinforce the systematic and integrated work within the sector and to implement effective communication strategies in the traditional and virtual platforms for the promotion of the creators from grass-root committees.
During the evaluated period the cultural membership highlighted the constructive investments in museum buildings and among its strengths the alliances with the Cuban Association of Historians, the José Martí Cultural Society, the Hermanos Saíz Association and the Cuban Writers and Artists Association.
The attention to the students of artistic education, the monitoring of training processes with scientific support, the articulation of actions to protect the cultural heritage of Guantanamo also were included in the agenda of 2019, together with the stimulation of creative processes and specialized criticism, as well as the restoration of the Salcines Palace, the Birth House of the poet Regino Eladio Boti and the Documentation Center Rafael Inciarte Brioso.
At the end of the Assembly of Provincial Balance of Culture in Guantanamo was the recognition to personalities, municipal addresses and centers of its institutional system in the territory for the fulfillment of the work objectives and its social function during 2018.
