This new event gathers, in the easternmost province of Cuba, the most outstanding groups in the country as the Papalote Theater group of Matanzas, Alánimo, that won two Caricato Awards this year for the work “Cuando muere el otoño (When Autumn Passes); Teatro Mejunje and Children’s Theater of Escambray Group, both of Villa Clara, with an exceptional works for the preservation of Cuban literature for children and adults.
The presentation of Teatro del Tiempo and Teatro Andante, both of Granma, with proven vocation and work in the community. are included in the program of the festiva Titereando..
The local and host groups, Río and Guiñol, will play for the public the most recent production: shows clown with puppets, black light technique and stories adapted for puppets that recreate the short story of Onelio Jorge Cardoso, Samuel Feijóo and other Cuban authors.
Once again the Guantanamo theater groups will share experience in conferences and workshops, praised by the criteria and knowledge of researchers from the Faculty Freddy Artiles, who was one of the most outstanding scholars of children's theater and puppet Cuba.
The expert Blanca Felipe Rivero, a professor at the National Institute of Arts (ISA), and adviser of the theater group La Proa, will give a lecture on how puppet theater responds to Cuban identity and culture, and designer Felix Viamonte expose his views on the achievements of creation before precariousness.
