Guantamo Labor Movement Recognizes Effectiveness of Savings Measures

CTCThe Cuban Workers Federation (CTC) in Guantanamo positively recognized the implementation of measures that contribute to energy savings in the workplace and the response given by those who maintain the vitality of production and services from their positions.

It was known in the last plenary of the CTC, which also highlighted the contact with workers in 107 high consumer entities, from sectors such as health, food, construction, energy and mines, industries and tourism, where it is oriented the saving energy efficiently.

The meeting highlighted the exchange between union leaders and employers for the displacement of working hours, as well as the implementation of employment modalities such as teleworking, which includes 51 Guantanamo residents, and the more than 250 workers who work at home.


In the plenary session of the CTC, it was specified that to this reorganization of the forces to guarantee productivity are added inspections by labor leaders and other governing bodies, visits that corroborate the implementation of the guidelines in one hundred percent of the centers, which it helps the province to save more than 450 megawatts / hour of energy.


Leaders of the Cuban Workers Federation make up the Energy Councils, both municipal and at the provincial level, in which they analyze consumption of energy during the peak hours of the previous day and identify the defaulters with the measures to face the situation from the impossibility of the country to import the necessary fuels due to the resurgence of the blockade.


The labor movement calls workers to effectively use energy carriers under the precept of not stopping production and ensuring basic services to the population.
