After "the civic, political and police coup", the doctors were protected in their homes with the necessary supplies, distributed by the nine Bolivian departments and complying with the guidelines given the complex situation in Bolivia.

The health authorities of the eastern region maintain communication with all of them and their families, and assure that protection measures were adopted for all Cuban personnel who provide collaboration to the Bolivian people, pending further decisions.

In Bolivia, 701 Cuban Health professionals are currently serving as part of the social programs undertaken by the Morales government administration.
