With the aim of collaborating fraternally in favor of the mother and child health in Cuba, the prominent doctor Galen Guillermo Zambosco, president of the foundation for the development of that service in Argentina, teaches for two days in Guantanamo, an International Course of Neonatology, aimed at personnel specialized in that matter.
The meeting highlights the neonatal mechanical ventilation and the integral management of the critical newborn, both thematic ones in order to deepen in aspects related to respiratory physiology, the care of the ventilated newborn and the hemodynamic management in Shock, among other particular modalities.
The professor, who visits the island for the fifteenth time, will contribute through bibliographic courses and materials to a better improvement of neonatologists, pediatricians and nurses in the easternmost territory, directly linked to the care of critical newborns, the low weight, among others.
Likewise, the Argentine Doctor, Guillermo Zambosco, recognized the value of the Cuban health system, which offers the possibility of caring to all people without any distinction whatsoever and that despite economic limitations prioritizes the Mother and Child Program, one of the most sensitive in the sector.
For her part, Dr. Niura García Rivera, head of the provincial group of neonatology and head of the service of that specialty in the General Teaching Hospital Dr. Agustino Neto, thanks in the name of the medical staff to be able to meet through the experienced professor who works at the Italian Hospital of La Plata, Argentina, about the practices and knowledge updated in relation to the protocols of that medical specialty.
On February 24 and 25, the International Course of Neonatology takes place in Guantanamo, which will contribute to the qualification of the personnel that works in the services of the largest health institution of the province and in the Octavio de la Concepción Pedraja General Hospital of Baracoa.
