The production of natu
ral and traditional medicine (MNT) constitutes one of the main strengths in Guantanamo to carry out complementary therapies, prevent and treat acute respiratory infections, especially at this stage of the year when allergic processes affect considerable groups of the population.
Yalina Rojas Turró, communication specialist of the Provincial Pharmacy and Optical Enterprise assured that they produce in the territory 85 lines of natural remedies, with representation of all pharmacological groups, including anti-colds, anti-flu syrups, antimicrobials, expectorants and anti-asthmatics.
This offer design allows the population to purchase, at a reasonable price, at the network of pharmacies in the territory, onion syrups, sage, oregano combined with sugar cane and rosemary, as well as imefasma, among others that act directly on the respiratory system.
Likewise, to avoid coryza, Guantanamo residents can get onion tincture, which also contains antitasminic and antiviral properties, very appropriate to face the current health situation.
To obtain natural and traditional medicine, Guantanamo has 18 production centers, 3 of which are located in Baracoa, Niceto Pérez and the capital city, respectively, all with premises designed to carry out technological processes.
Similarly, 15 pharmacies, of the 122 in the province, also highly-demanded lines such as tinctures, balms, creams and syrups, this last line with great demand.
