Idelannis Gómez Feria, judo champion at the 2023 Pan American Games , in Santiago de Chile, arrived at the coffee plantations of the Antonio Maceo Basic Cooperative Production Unit, located in the community Bayate, in the El Salvador Municipality, accompanied by a representation of workers of the Sports Initiation School (EIDE).
The delegation was led by Norexy Torres Vicente, general teaching assistant director of the EIDE and vice mayor Margenis Ballar Castillo, to provide their contribution to the coffee harvesting, an activity that strengthens the Cuban economy.
The current coffee harvest in the El Salvador Municipality shows a progress in the different mountainous areas of the territory that are dedicated to the aromatic grain production.
Vladimir Hernández Sablón, delegate of Agriculture in the town, explained that the harvest is advancing as expected and it will end over two months. So far, 13,643 cans of coffee grains have been collected, more cans than the previous harvest.
