Guantanamo.- The National Center for Seismological Research of Cuba  (CENAIS) reported early Monday morning a perceptible earthquake of 4.3 magnitude, 7 km south of the city of Santiago de Cuba, in the eastern region of the island

According to the information, at 10:54 am local time yesterday, the network of stations of the Cuban National Seismological Service recorded the tremor at coordinates at 19.95 degrees north latitude and -75.83 degrees west longitude, at a depth of 25.5 km.

Reports have been received from several localities in the provinces of Guantánamo, Granma, Holguín and Santiago de Cuba, where the earthquake was also felt in the city.

At the closing of the information, no material or human damages have been reported.

This is the No 9 perceptible earthquake of the year 2024.
