To this end, the eastern territory has 181 forms of production and 6,240 producers dedicated to planting the crop, who this year are expected to pulp no less than 90 percent of the cherry.

Fong Berguelich emphasized that for the wet processing of the grain, 68 pulping plants and four mills for dry processing are being maintained, while work is being done on the repair of these mechanisms despite the limitations with lubricants, cup grease, pedestals and other attachments.

He also highlighted the intense work to define the productive and developing plants, and the physical and economic failures that allow establishing an estimate in the arabica and robusta varieties, as well as to implement the force of regular pickers, peasants, cooperative members and rural residents who every year join the important activity.

The coming coffee campaign will be marked by the complex economic situation and the lack of resources, which imposes new challenges to the Guantanamo coffee growers, who with dedication and sacrifice are determined to overcome any difficulty.
