Guantanamo – Elio Iznaga, deputy general director of Sports in Guantanamo, urged to increase sporting training during the Technical Congress of the Provincial Baseball Series, which will begin on September 11 and will extend until October 26, in its first stage.
Yamil Mcblan Pérez, Provincial Commissioner, reported that the Championship will be dedicated to the sport stars Gerardo Simón Limonta and Liván González Moreira, and at the beginning of each game a minute’s silence in memory of the recently deceased umpire César Pérez Cruz will be observed.
The Series will be characterized by greater quality and discipline with the incentive of the meritorious performance of the Indios del Guaso in the past 64th National Baseball Series.
Six teams will compete in 20 matches, of which 4 for the West zone and 2 for the East, with three reinforcements that qualify for the next stage to be held from November 2.
A total of 11 teams with a team made up of the youth category will encourage the development of games, to turn the Series into a baseball party.
The Provincial Baseball Series will be inaugurated on September 11 in the Maisí Municipality, the home of the Rayos, which are the Champions of the last edition.
