Guantanamo.- Yoel Pérez García, president of the Provincial Defense Council in Guantánamo, along with Alis Azahares Torreblanca, vice president, visited the municipality of Manuel Tames this Sunday afternoon.

Both expressed concern about the conditions of the locals evacuated in this area and also toured the bank of river that runs through the Manuel Tames district, which is overflowed due to heavy rainfall and obstructions caused by fallen trees and landslides.

The Provincial Defense Council authorities were also accompanied by their municipal counterparts and other authorities.

During the tour, Pérez García had a pleasant conversation with residents living near the riverbanks, urging them to be alert to the rising waters and to immediately report any abnormalities to the authorities.

The heavy rains in the area caused large trees to fall, according to Adán Cortina, CMKS correspondent in Manuel Tames.
