Guantanamo.- Army General Raul Castro and Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel laid wreaths on Monday in front of Marti’s monument at the Santa Ifigenia cemetery in this eastern city.

On the 130th anniversary of the Cuban National Hero’s fall in combat, floral arrangements were also sent by Esteban Lazo, President of the National People’s Power Assembly (ANPP) and the Council of State, and one on behalf of the Cuban people, represented here by local citizens.

Niurka Bell, a member of the Executive Bureau of the Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), Governor Manuel Falcon, and authorities of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR) the Interior Ministry (MININT), the Union Young Communist League (UJC), among other organizations, attended the ceremony.

The guard-change military ceremony was led by cadets of the “General Jose Maceo” Inter-armed School of the FAR, and students of the Camilo Cienfuegos Military School of this city.
