With the presence of Army General Raúl Castro and the First Secretary of the Party Central Committee and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel-Bermúdez, the national ceremony for July 26 took place in Ciego de Ávila.
Along with a large representation of the people, Commander of the Revolution Ramiro Valdés Menéndez, Commander of the Rebel Army José Ramón Machado Ventura, Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee Roberto Morales Ojeda, and Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz were present.
Representing the province’s ten municipalities, combatants of the Revolution and young people from all walks of life, members of the Revolutionary Armed Forces and the Ministry of the Interior, and supportive friends from 23 countries attended.
Beautifully decorated, the Máximo Gómez Báez Revolution Square in Ciego de Ávila was also enhanced by the intervention of artists who highlight Cuban identity.
