The Raw Materials Enterprise in Guantanamo is putting into practice an initiative for the rescue of recyclable elements, with the purpose of encouraging this activity that greatly contributes to the country´s economic development.

Under the slogan “Mi  país me necesita” (My country needs me), the project is committed to renewing among Guantanamo residents the habit of rescuing reusable materials such as paper, cardboard, glass, plastic and non-ferrous metals, among others, at a time when the blockade against Cuba intensifies.

Luis Alberto Fernández Silva, manager of Development and Investment in that entity, said that the project emerging in this eastern province takes place -in a first stage- in the municipal seats through the collection of raw materials in salute to the 10th Congress of the Committees for Defense of the Revolution, conferences that have the neighborhoods as their main scenario and where, at the same time, other sanitization activities are being carried out.

Children and students join with their contribution to various economic and social activities in the territory during their vacation period.

With the implementation of the “Mi pais me necesita” (My country needs me) movement, the Raw Materials Enterprise in Guantanamo is committed to revolutionizing and encouraging the culture of recycling in the province, at the same time that it projects to improve its commitments in exportable lines and in the commercialization of productions through retail sales.
