Guantánamo – Workers at the El Yunque Cultural Center, in the Baracoa City, are working on the recovery of the cultural complex, affected after the passage of Hurricane Oscar.

Susana Orphee Montoya, Communications and Marketing specialist at Artex in Guantánamo, said that the process is progressing at a good pace with the cleaning and removal of debris, as well as the execution of the new constructive refurbisment that the terrace will have to become a more welcoming and comfortable place.

According to Orphee Montoya, only painting and some audio tests are missing, since the place must be ready before the end of the current month.

The El Yunque Cultural Center, known as the Artex Terrace, will be reopened on November 28, coinciding with the beginning of the Chocolate con Café Festival, sponsored by the prestigious musician Waldo Mendoza and in tribute to the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Baracoa Orchestra.
