Guantanamo.- Heavy rains increased the water level of the Arroyo Hondo River that flooded the town of Santa Cecilia, located about six kilometers southeast of the municipality of Guantánamo. There, residents, along with municipal government authorities, are taking the necessary measures to begin recovery efforts and prevent human and material losses.

This information is confirmed by Rider Enrique Mastrapa Laborit, Vice President of the Municipal Assembly of People’s Power in Guantánamo, who posted it on his Facebook profile.

Albis López Ramírez, First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba in the municipality of Guantánamo, stated on Facebook that thanks to the timely alert and cooperation among residents, it was possible to take immediate action and prevent serious consequences for the town.
