Guantanamo.- Russia continues to prepare a memorandum outlining the principles and timelines for resolving the Ukrainian conflict, Russian spokesperson Maria Zakharova said.
The spokeswoman, at her weekly press conference held this Tuesday in Makhachkala, capital of the Republic of Dagestan, stated that once it is ready, the memorandum will be delivered to Kiev, and Ukraine is expected to send its own.

According to Zakharova, Russia’s memorandum addresses a possible ceasefire for a certain period of time if the relevant agreements are reached.

The diplomat recalled Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s pleas to his sponsors to increase military aid, noting that it is clear to everyone where this aid goes, some of which is looted, while others are used to kill citizens, including of Ukraine itself.

“Without a doubt, they are doing this to prevent the emerging peaceful progress. Those who want peace are not hatching plans on how to bring more weapons to the region, how to invent more lethal weapons, and how to worsen the situation by preventing the signs or sprouts that have now been sown in Istanbul from continuing to germinate,” Zakharova added.

The official also noted that Zelensky, while claiming to seek peace, is beginning to escalate his aggressive rhetoric and shifts the blame Russia for the prolongation of the conflict and a supposed lack for peace.

In her speech, the diplomat accused the current authorities in Kiev of having increased their persecution of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, as well as of the monuments erected in Ukraine in memory of anti-fascist fighters, and of figures from the Soviet era and the Russian Empire.
