Guantanamo.- This Thursday it was announced that the Council of Ministers of Cuba agreed to finance through the State Budget 50 percent of the prices of construction materials and mattresses that will be sold to those who suffered total or partial damage to houses, after the hit of Hurricane Oscar.

The document, published in an extraordinary edition of the Official Gazette, detailed that people whose income is not sufficient can access bank loans, request subsidies for the purchase of construction materials from the State Budget or request financing from Social Assistance.

The measure establishes that the State Budget be approved to finance the interest rate differential, above 2.5 percent per year, of the credits requested by the victims, for construction actions, for having suffered total or partial collapses of houses and roofs, as well as for the purchase of durable goods.

The Minister of Finance and Prices was authorized to grant budgetary guarantees to support the unrecoverable bank credits granted to the victims.
