The first secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Party in Guantanamo, Yoel Pérez García, and the Governor, Alis Azahares Torreblanca, led the inauguration of several works of social impact on the occasion of the local celebrations for the 65th anniversary of the triumph of the revolution.
The first of them was the pumping station at the La Clotilde reservoir, located in the municipality of Manuel Tames, a hydraulic work that benefits the inhabitants of the town of Jamaica, the Dabul and Villa Toa districts, in the Guantanamo City, and the industrial zone of the East of the capital of the province.
Lexis Suárez, provincial director of Aqueduct and Sewerage, reported that three turbines of European origin, were installed there, which guarantee 150 liters of water per second and 50 meters of load, an investment valued at more than two million pesos.
The opening day of social works in Guantanamo also included the delivery of two multi-family buildings with 16 apartments to officers of the Revolutionary Armed Forces.
The Guantanamo highest political and government authorities then visited the local Fishing Enterprise Pescaguan, where an ice plant with a capacity of 10 tons and a freezing network systems were inaugurated, which guarantee the conservation of the processed lines for their sale to the population.
Pescaguan managers reported on the recent installation of high-tech equipment to make sausages, croquettes and hamburgers. The priority is to raise the fishing levels in the aquaria, which should begin in the coming days, Yoel Pérez García, first Secretary of the Party in the province. said.
The “Zoilita” Fashion House, located in the historic center of Guantanamo, also officially opened its doors, with completely remolded room for the design and production of clothing to taste, which include a catwalk for fashions, musical performances and the offer of bar services and gastronomic products.
In this sense, Alis Azahares Torreblanca, Provincial Governor, urged the opening of similar spaces in the rest of the municipalities, with the purpose of educating good taste in clothing and the defense of the identity, customs and cultural traditions of each locality.
With great impact on the educational system, was the opening of a mosaic production line at the Julio Antonio Delgado Reyes Vocational School, thanks to the international collaboration projects Profet, to strengthen the training of young people and workers of technical education, from the Swiss SDC agency, and local development project Expanding employment for young people in key sectors, from the Russian Federation.
For this investment, a budget of more than one million pesos was allocated for the training of students, teachers and the population.
With the aim of strengthening primary health care, the Family Doctor’s Office number 15, belonging to the South Polyclinic of the provincial capital, was reopened, a work that included the complete repair of the property that covers the medical care to more than 700 inhabitants of area.
