Guantánamo – Workers from the national Taxis Cuba Company arrived from Havana to Guantánamo to deliver a donation to people affected by Hurricane Oscar in the eastern municipalities of the province.

Agustín Roberto Sánchez, member of the secretariat of the union of transport and port said that the response of the nearly 7 thousand workers of the twelve taxi agencies in the capital of the country was immediate.

In this sense, he assured, they donated clothes, toilet kits, footwear, medicines, as well as more than two hundred and 90 thousand pesos in national currency deposited in a bank account.

Other members of the delegation, such as Yaimile Cebreco and Freddy Sigler, emphasize that this is the first time they have come to the easternmost territory of the country with the pride of collaborating with those who lost almost everything during the climatic event and with the firm conviction that Guantánamo is not alone.

With the delivery of this suitcase from the Taxis Cuba Company, there are more than ten donations of this type that the Base Business Unit of this agency in Guantánamo receives for those affected in the municipalities of San Antonio del Sur, Imias and Baracoa, a symbol of solidarity and love of the Cubans.
