Guantanamo.-The institutional profile on the Facebook social network of the Municipal Directorate of Culture in Guantánamo reports that the 8th edition of the Chocolate con Café Festival will take place between November 29 and December 1, sponsored by this institution, together with the Municipal Assembly of People’s Power at the same level, the Provincial Directorate of Culture and the BioCuba Caffé Joint Venture.

This festival, whose organizing committee is chaired by the popular Cuban singer-songwriter Waldo Mendoza, will be dedicated to the 154th anniversary of the granting of the title of town to the Guantánamo City, to pay tribute to the group Nengón Imías on its 70th anniversary of its creation, as well as to the young agroforesters and to the municipalities affected by the passage of cyclone Oscar, San Antonio del Sur, Imías, Baracoa and Maisí, territories from which the cultural program of the event will be developed.

The publication on the digital platform also announces that in this eighth edition it is expected the participation of the soloists Vania Borges and Leo Vera, the troubadour Orlis Pineda, the group D` Cuba, Juan Guillermo (JG), the septet Son de Oriente, the Proyecto Oralitura Habana, the Café Pilongo group, as well as the singer-songwriter Lidis Lamorú and the announcer Marino Luzardo, who together with a representation of creators from the artistic catalog of the province will be protagonists of the festival.

The opening gala of the 8th Chocolate with Coffee Festival will take place at the Guaso Theater in the Guantánamo City on November 29 at 9 pm, and the program of the event also includes the second Forum of Creative and Innovative Sociocultural Projects for Local Development, as well as the III International BIOCUBA Fair, the Agro-Industrial Fair “Mercado de La Tierra”, the Solemn Assembly for the 154th anniversary of the declaration of this eastern city as a town, and the traditional Guantanamo Nights.
