Guantanamo.- The eminent Spanish scientist Jose A. Obeso Inchausti receives today the condition of Corresponding Academician of the Academy of Science of Cuba (ACC) in a ceremony at the Aula Magna of the University of Havana.
Obeso Inchausti is a Full Academician of the Royal National Academy of Medicine, Director of the Integral Neurosciences Center and of the HM Puerta del Sur Hospital, Mostoles, in Spain, PhD Science Nancy Pavon Fuentes, secretary of the ACC, told the Cuban News Agency.
She added that his investiture is part of a special program for his visit until next Thursday, which includes the Symposium Advances in Neurodegenerative Diseases: approaches on heredo-ataxias, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases.
According to Pavon Fuentes, the Cuban Neurosciences Center will also be the venue for the sesquicentennial of the Spanish scholar and for a series of specialized conferences at the International Center for Neurological Restoration.
