In Yateras, efforts are strengthened in order to guarantee the coffee harvest, according to the current peak of grain ripening in that Guantanamo municipality.

This was said during the exchange between José Antonio Pérez Pérez, a member of the National Secretariat of the Cuban Workers Federation, CTC, with agricultural executives in that territory, where aspects related to the decrease in the workforce were analyzed, and the scarcity of essential resources for the collection and storage of the exportable good.

In this regard, the director of the Municipal Agroforestry Company said that the Administration Council implements a system to guarantee the collection and avoid the loss of beans in the coffee plantations.

The union leader arrived at Secador Continuo, one of the main Yateras coffee processing plants, where he spoke with workers about issues like the conditions for carrying out their work and the salary they receive during the harvest.

During Pérez Pérez’s visit to the municipality, there was a consensus that the coffee harvest is the most important economic task that is being carried out at the moment and on which all efforts should be focused in order to guarantee good results and increase its quality.
