Guantánamo – A Comprehensive Exercise with the practical development of various actions aimed at the defensive transition to a state of war was carried out in the Guabanó Defense Zone, in the San Antonio del Sur Municipality, during the Territorial Defense Day in the Guantánamo Province

Irma Cuello Masó, member of the Provincial Party Bureau and member of the Provincial Defense Council, witnessed the conduct of military exercises in the aforementioned defensive structure, on occasion of the September 28, the 64th anniversary of the set up of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution.

During sample demonstration lesson with the heads of the Porduction Brigades, Cuello Masó indicated that the forces should make the best possible use of the time in the preparation, which have the double mission of producing food and facing the invaders, because the more mastery of special tactics and the handling of weapons  the morethe men and women who make up the brigades, would make the imperialists pay for a reckless aggression against our country.

At the Guantánamo Cannery Branch Enterprise, located in the Caujerí Valley, the delegation appreciated the production of mango and guava pulp for the elaboration of compotes, a demanded infant food, tomato puree, pickles and other by-products distributed for the population, tourism and priority organizations.

The Provincial Defense Council also exchanged with farmers and directors of the 17 de Mayo Agricultural Production Cooperative, the first of its kind in Guantánamo that is a leader in the cultivation and harvesting of vegetables and grains, where the availability of seeds and seedlings is also strengthened through a complex of covered cultivation houses.

A simulation of mass reception of wounded in the aforementioned factory center, and the assistance of an electric service lineman, constituted a demonstration of strength, both in peace and in war, if it is imposed on us.

The territorial Defense Day in Guantánamo also included an act of revolutionary reaffirmation in the park of the aforementioned demarcation where the population spontaneously gathered and demonstrated its firmness in defense of its Revolution.

At that place, the highest political-military leadership of the  Guantánamo Province finally appreciated and received a detailed explanation from Walker Gamboa Matos, Director of the Municipal Enterprise of Commerce and Gastronomy, about a sample of the food productions planned to be carried out in time of war for the survival of the troops that will defend the town, and the population.
