Guantanamo.- In a moving act of solidarity and social support, three vulnerable families from the Costa Rica People’s Council, in the municipality of El Salvador, received a donation of televisions and washing machines this Monday.
The event was attended by the president of the Municipal Assembly of People’s Power, Eudis Ruiz Romero, and the local administrator, Yaritza Omaña Puente.
The first to receive the items was Dione Morales del Río, 39, a mother of two children with disabilities. Through tears, Morales expressed her gratitude for the gesture, highlighting the significance of this support for her household. Her daughter, Geidi Silva Morales, 15, studies Nursing and lives with hip dysplasia, a condition that requires special care and constant support. “This changes our lives,” the mother said, visibly moved.

Another beneficiary was little Ángel Torres Sánchez, just three years old, who lives with Down syndrome. His mother, Yuriesky Sánchez Samora, admitted she never expected such assistance and deeply appreciated the delivery of the appliances, which will improve her family’s daily living conditions
Local authorities reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the most vulnerable sectors and announced that similar initiatives will continue in order to ease hardships in areas facing difficult socioeconomic conditions. The event concluded with applause and expressions of gratitude from residents of the settlement.
