Guantánamo – Adolescent leadership, engaging visuals, and fresh language characterize the public service campaign“Ahí es” (That’s It) , launched in the municipality of Guantánamo by the coordinators of the national project “No More: Prevention and Response to Violence Against Women in Cuba.”

The initiative, which unites efforts in building a society free from sexism, also extends to the Guantánamo municipality of El Salvador and four other municipalities in the country with high rates of violence.

It seeks to “break stereotypes through information and awareness-raising on topics related to the adolescent right to experience safe and fulfilling gender relationships,” according to Lirians Gordillo Piña. Journalist and coordinator of the No Más… project

“Ahí es” (That’s It) arises from the joint effort of the Italian Association Cospe, the Federation of Cuban Women and its Women’s Publishing House, in partnership with the Martin Luther King Center and other institutions, to contribute to the full development of Cuban youth,” stated Lirians Goirdillo.

In Guantánamo, the engaging initiative “will be extended to the ten popular councils of the capital municipality, primarily to vulnerable neighborhoods,” shared Zucel Lamorú Cabrera, Secretary of the FMC Municipal Committee.

To this end, “presentations will be held in the communities, starting with targeted work with teenagers,” added Lamorú Cabrera, who also coordinates the Ahí es campaign in the city of Guantánamo.
