Guantanamo.- The recent resurgence of the Guantánamo baseball team, the “Indios del Guaso,” has sparked renewed optimism among their supporters, following four consecutive victories at their home ground, the Nguyen Van Troi stadium.
After a challenging start to the season, marked by nine losses in their first ten games, the team has bounced back impressively, securing wins against the “Cachorros” of Holguín and the “Avispas” of Santiago de Cuba in thrilling matches.
Unfortunately, the excitement has been dampened by a lack of communication with fans, as the stadium’s electronic scoreboard is inoperative due to power supply issues, a common challenge in these times of scarcity. Additionally, the public address system is non-functional, and there is no manual scoreboard to convey essential game information such as runs, hits, errors, and the current inning.
Consequently, fans are left uninformed about critical aspects of the game, including the batting order and player identities, which diminishes the overall experience. It is hoped that these technical difficulties will be addressed promptly, as both the players and their loyal supporters deserve a better experience, particularly during this promising phase for the “Indians.”
