Change methods, styles and work systems, in a way that allows those who direct the processes to take steps to lay the groundwork; as well as the fulfillment of productive plans and better attention to the problems of the population, focused the analyzes of the recently held first provincial Council of the Government of People’s Power in 2024.
Chaired by the Governor of Guantanamo Alis Azahares Torreblanca, and with the participation of the directors of the ten municipal Assemblies of People’s Power and Mayors at the same level, the Provincial Council of the Government, assessed the actions to be carried out at the territorial level to reduce the budget deficit, control inflation, increase the production of food and other goods and services, correct distortions and boost the economy.
“In achieving these goals –Azahares Torreblanca said– “a decisive role is played by the achievement, by those who direct in the province and municipalities, the companies, organizations and entities, work systems that allow knowing and controlling the proposed plans and objectives to fulfill the assigned responsibility, taking advantage of existing potential and regardless of current deficiencies and limitations.”
In the Government Council, corresponding to the month of January, the key issues addressed the behavior of the economy and the budget at the end of 2023 and the disaggregation of the plan for 2024, the implementation of the commitments to boost the economy, the presentation of the Transition Strategy to the Circular Economy and the progress of the sugar harvest.
