Guantanamo.- The Friendly Voice of CMKS Radio Station is kept in the hearts of Guantanamo residents. Since its foundation on June 27th, 88 years ago, the Trinchera Antimperialista of Cuba (The Anti-imperialist Trench of Cuba) has gone on the air and has delighted its listeners. It remains a favorite with the public through their live streaming and programming, unique proposals created by its talented staff.
According to Yudith Chávez Rodríguez, a communications specialist at the CMKS, who highlights the visit to the retirees, those men and women whose unforgettable experiences encouraged today’s professionals, immersed in their daily work that seek to offer communication products to different age groups to enrich their culture and strengthen their identity.
She also announced that in honor of the provincial radio station’s name day, the “Cándido Savón” Radio Creation Hall will be officially inaugurated, in honor of the man who founded this radio station in 1937. A plaque will also be unveiled identifying the station’s theater with the name “Lilí Martínez,” in tribute to the Guantanamo legendary pianist, arranger, and composer.
Currently, she explains, work is underway to complete the Megahertz Production Staff, the multimedia production unit, whose purpose is to enhance practices and skills to generate content in a context in which diverse digital platforms and social networks converge, as well as to modernize traditional media spaces from an integrative and interactive perspective.
For her part, specialist Bessie Brown reports that the celebration of CMKS’s 88th anniversary includes recognition for radio families and outstanding listeners captivated by the magic of a media outlet that remains alive, agile, reliable, entertaining, educational, and friendly even in complex circumstances.
