With music, dance, and poetry show, the 33rd edition of the Guantánamo Book Fair, the most important literary festival in the country, concluded in Guantánamo.

Renowned poet and book editor Mireya Piñeiro Ortigosa, one of the personalities honored at the event, expressed her gratitude for the tributes and recognized the work of all those who contributed to the successful development of the Fair, while sharing some of her own verses.

Dedicated also to the 25th anniversary of the El Mar y la Montaña Editorial House, the book festival featured a broad theoretical program that included lectures, panels, an editing workshop, and literary presentations.

As usual, literature achieved a connection with all the events during those days. An example of this was the event’s closing gala, which featured the participation of the string quartet, the dance school, and readings by José Raúl Fraguela and the festival itself.
