Guantanamo.-The Provincial Council of the Jose Marti Art Instructors Brigade in Guantanamo, a meeting to evaluate the work of this artistic-educational movement, also attended by its national president Carlos Castillo Mojena, was held in the province with the participation of the Deputy Minister of Culture in the country, Lizette Martinez Luzardo.
The work of the Guantanamo brigade members in educational institutions, cultural centers and community spaces, as well as the artistic units they lead and the initiatives and socio-cultural projects promoted by them in these areas were the subject of the debate during the meeting, held at the Antonia Luisa Cabal Salis Professional School of Music.
The relevance of the completion of the brigade technical force in the municipalities of the territory and the integral attention to the art instructor as a cultural professional focused this exchange space, in which they also proposed as a projection for the new period the design of a national event to be held in Guantanamo.
Likewise, issues related to professional improvement, the link with the artistic vanguard and the importance of a greater insertion of the brigadistas in the teaching team of the instructors new formation of the province constituted other issues addressed on this occasion, in which emphasis was also made on the need to strengthen the municipal structures of this movement for its better functioning.
On the other hand, experiences of the relevant work of the brigadistas of the territory were socialized, such as the formative work in the specialty of music from the Children’s Theater Company Colmenita Guantanamo, and the Guayacán Negro Project in the municipality of Caimanera and Arcoiris in Maisi, while also highlighting the significance of incorporating the instructor in the process of recruiting students for artistic education.
The incidence of the Jose Marti Art Instructors Brigade in the cultural programming of this summer 2024 was also mentioned at the meeting, a summer season to which they join with the realization of festivals together with the movement of amateur creators, contests, workshops, artistic presentations and spaces for interaction with the community.
