Guantanamo.- During the month of August of this 2024, the Port of Boquerón remained active in its operations. The storage of salt in warehouses transported by boxes to the port is the main operation carried out in recent times.

However, the Port’s workers, knowing that their contribution is essential for the Caimanera Municipality’s economy, remain firm despite the material shortages that today affect this important economic activity.

After promptly operating a truck with rice destined for the normalized family basket in the first half of August, they prepared to load it with salt, both processes carried out in record time without delays.

From the 19th to the 30th, skilled hands began the shipment of salt again; the ASELA Ship once again touched the Guantanamo harbor with its mission of transporting more than 2,500 tons of salt to the West.

In just over ten days this other goal is met, under the intense heat the Guillermones did not cease in their efforts to bring this other shipment to a successful conclusion, they know that the population of the West is waiting for the most precious product on their table, at the beginning of the distribution cycle of the last quarter of 2024.

Asela has already sailed the sea since this Saturday, with this, there are three shipments are completed in 2024.

The Caimanera salt will travel safely to the capital and other points in the West, an action that fulfills the state order of the citizens with the country, to supply 65 percent of the population through the regulated distribution of the condiment. Process that is part of the state commission provided for in the 2024 economic plan for the Guantánamo and Joa salt mines.
