Guantanamo.- The Latin American Society of the Lower Genital Tract awarded the title of Latin American Master of Colposcopy to Guantanamo doctor Lidia Esther Lorié Sierra, during the session of the National Workshop on Cervical Cancer Control.

Lorié Sierra, a second-degree specialist in Gynecology and Obstetrics, has a Master’s degree in Comprehensive Care for Women, is a full professor at the University of Medical Sciences of Guantanamo and President of the provincial Chapter of the Cuban Society of Gynecology and Obstetrics.

She is also the founder of the Cervical Pathology consultation for Adolescents and Young People at the Doctor Agostinho Neto General Teaching Hospital, and a member of the provincial Scientific Committee on Health.

She is also a member of the Arbitration Body of the journal Información Científica (RIC), of which she served as principal editor from April 2022.

RIC is a bimonthly online publication and official communication body of the Guantánamo University of Medical Sciences, included in the SciElo database, the largest scientific electronic library in Latin America that houses more than a thousand open access journals published in 12 countries, including Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Cuba.
