In this sacred site of the Homeland, the main leaders take on their commitments to make Guantanamo a province worthy of the moments we live in, aware that together we can do more.

Promoting compliance with the plans for agriculture, production, commercial circulation, import substitution, investments and the energy savings plan distinguish the actions proposed in the work commitments of the municipalities for progress in economic and social development of Guantanamo in 2024, handed over to the highest leadership of the Party and the Government in the province.

In a solemn ceremony, in La Playita, in Cajobabo, a place that marks the landing of José Martí and Máximo Gómez on the Cuban coast, Liset Pérez Rosario, the first secretary of the Party in Caimanera, representing the municipal leaders, assured that the projections of this year they need to look for local solutions linked to science and innovation programs that favor the economic take-off.

Likewise, Alis Azahares Torreblanca, the Guantanamo governor, said that 2024 comes with great challenges to advance in the implementation of the development strategy until 2030, in economic recovery, compliance with the plan and the approved budget, placing all knowledge and greater effort for achieving good results.

The commitments that are handed over – she specified – represent the interest of the cadres in achieving a prosperous Guantanamo, with the challenge of completing the sugar harvest this year, raising the quality of services to the population, generalizing good practices, and with the participation of the workers and the people in general, make unity our main strategic weapon.

Yoel Pérez García, first secretary of the Party in the province, called for taking advantage of the potential of the territory to boost the Guantanamo economy.
