Guantánamo. – The First Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee in Guantánamo, Yoel Pérez García, toured the communities of Ullao Nuevo, in the municipality of Niceto Pérez, and Hatibonico, in Caimanera, in both places the surfaces are saturated with water accumulated groundwater due to heavy rains that caused flooding.

The journey extended to the marine chief town, where heavy and intense rainfall caused a landslide on the Wilfredo Goce Cabrera elementary school in that territory, ” the First Anti-Imperialist Trench of Cuba.”

The top party leader emphasized the need to care for and protect people, while advising the authorities in each municipality not to be complacent and to adopt the appropriate emergency measures if there is any anomaly during the weather event.

Although the first rays of sunlight appeared on Tuesday after four full days of heavy rains, widespread cloudiness and intervals of rains associated with Tropical Storm Imelda, the ninth of the current hurricane season, which  still has impact on the Cuban easternmost region.
