Guantanamo – Several generations of Guantanamo residents will pay tribute to Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, on the occasion of the 8th anniversary of his death, on November 25.

That day, the cultural gala “Siempre Joven” will take place at five in the afternoon at the Guaso Theater, while documentaries will be screened in video rooms, workplaces and communities, which highlight the life and legacy of the Commander in Chief.

The panel Fidel Castro, contributions and teaching, the discussions aimed at analyzing the perspective of the revolutionary leader on culture as a weapon and shield of the nation, as well as the trace of his presence in Guantanamo lands are also part of the activities of the tribute.

Photographic exhibitions will be displayed in institutions such as the Provincial Museum that shows  various moments of Fidel Castro’s visits to this region of Cuba, while the José Maceo Vocational Pre-University Institute of Exact Sciences displays photo collection “Fidel, eternal image”.

As part of the tribute of the Guantanamo people to the Commander in Chief, the eighth workshop “Fidel Castro: Vision of the future” will also be held at the Israel Reyes Zayas Party University, in addition to special morning sessions in educational institutions and work centers, where the imprint of the statesman will be remembered.

“Dialogue between books,” the concert of the José Martí Brigade, the presentation of the Concert Band, among other initiatives, are also part of the tribute in Guantanamo to evoke the leader of the Cuba Revolution .
