Guantánamo.- The Provincial Center for Books and Literature in Guantánamo payed a tribute through a commemorative program of literature and art to the poet Regino E. Boti on ocassion of the 148th anniversary of the birth of the distinguished local writer, watercolorist, and lawyer.

The program includes tributes and remembrances of his work, such as the  “Alma y Paisaje” (Soul and Landscape) Album, available on the institution’s Facebook page, which features a musical selection of his poems performed by the singer-songwriters Mario Zamora and Josué Oliva.

The laying of a floral wreck at the San Rafael cemetery in Guantánamo, in homage to the poet Regino E. Boti, is also part of this program, which also includes a tribute to his artistic legacy on February 18th at the entrance of his birthplace.

This tribute will feature writers Ania Alejo and Alquimis Zulueta, as well as his grandson and literary executor, Regino Rodríguez Boti, along with a performance by the lute duo of Lisania González and Jesús Fernández.

The Ateno Asdrúbal López Bookstore will be another venue in Guantánamo to commemorate the legacy of Regino E. Boti. This event will include a poetry reading by authors Karla Gil and José Ramón Sánchez, and bolero singer Paula Villalón, also on February 18th at 11:00 a.m.

On February 20, in conjunction with the Hermanos Saíz Association (AHS), the Provincial Center for Books and Literature has reserved the Community Readings initiative, led by writers Gregoria Bollé and Arletty Perigot in José Martí Park at 5 p.m.

The culmination of this commemorative program will also take place at José Martí Park, on the 21st at 11 a.m., with the Saturday Book Space, under the direction of author Yecenia Ramírez Sosa and with the presence of historian Ladislao Guerra as a guest.
