Guantanamo.- The Vice Minister of Culture, Fernando León Jacomino, and the President of the Cuban Institute of Music, Indira Fajardo, held a meeting with members of the Provincial Committee of the Cuban Writers and Artists Association (UNEAC), in Guantánamo, and with the delegates of the territory to attend the 10th Congress of this organization.

Both authorities of the Culture sector also exchanged with representatives and creators of the Provincial Music Center “Lilí Martínez Griñan,” to discuss the implementation of the Process of Improvement of the Business and Budgeted System of Music in the country.

The meeting of the Vice Minister of Culture and the President of the Cuban Institute of Music with Guantanamo artists and delegates to the tenth UNEAC congress is part of a work visit that they are carrying out throughout the country, which began in this eastern province.

During this exchange space, held in the context of the Cuban Culture Day, in Guantánamo, and in which Yoelvys Labañino López, the head of culture in the territory, and Ury Rodríguez Urgellés, the  president of UNEAC in the province, also participated, the delegates and creators referred to the topic of contracting the professional music catalog, as well as the relevance of enhancing the quality of the artistic proposals of the groups that comprise it, and the link of the institution that represents them, with the Local Development Programs.

Likewise, other approaches at the meeting focused on the relevance, for this process, of projecting the articulation with the different economic actors that converge in the country. The participants in the meeting referred to the study on the public as potential recipients of the cultural services and products of the professional catalogue , and the experiences, dynamics and work procedures of the Provincial Music Center Lilí Martínez Griñán, in Guantánamo, which enable the artists to assume this new stage of improvement.
